Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent At least 3 years supervisory experience in a chicken abattoir/ FMCG IR & People Management Experience PMI or PME Certificate required Food Safety knowledge required Good mathematical/analytical skills A willingness to work overtime, shifts and weekends when required Duties and Responsibilities Trains new workers in slaughtering, dressing, and packing duties Observes and evaluates performance of workers to ensure conformance to processing Monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiencies are achieved Motivate employees to maximise productivity Take corrective action in the form of counselling and/or coaching when performance and behaviour is not in accordance with the required targets and code of conduct. Monitor timekeeping and absenteeism Handle employee problems and queries Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers in line with company policies Ensure all employees attend the Induction and other training programmes as per the organisational requirements Ensure that all SHEQ requirements are always adhered to and take the necessary corrective action when needed Conduct toolbox talks with employees daily Monitor appearance of employees and their use of PPE and ensure that the required PPE is always worn Monitor employees using equipment to ensure safety standards are always maintained Take necessary precautions to control and safeguard company assets Schedule employees on the relevant Health and Safety training to ensure legislative standards are maintained Ensure housekeeping is completed on an ongoing basis so that the plant is kept clean Supervise employees to prevent damage or cross- contamination of products in line with the relevant quality policies and procedures Complete all documentation Staff overtime sheets accurately and in full Complete and/or update the prescribed reports and/or documentation manually or on a computer system Coordinate and control the quality of work performed by a team you supervise to ensure compliance to company policy and processes.
