| Laboratory Technician | Virtual | • Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis • Sample preparation in line with company protocols • Microbiological analysis of water samples in line with company protocols • Training and operation of relevant equipment • General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination • Accurate Data entry into laboratory database • Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system • Effective communication with all employees • Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor • Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory • Any other duties as required by the post Essential Criteria: • GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent • Degree (or equivalent) in a biological science or related subject. • Computer literate with experience of MS Office applications • Comfortable working in a busy laboratory environment • Ability to work quickly and accurately Desirable: • Previous laboratory experience • Previous experience of culture of microorganisms • Knowledge of laboratory accreditation systems • Full driving licence Candidates interested in this position please send CV to Gemma.Cleland@industrialtemps.com or call our Belfast office on 028 9032 2511 |
